BARHAM- KOONDROOK BRIDGE RESTORATION WINS COLIN CRISP AWARD

KI Studio is delighted that Roads and Maritime Service’s restoration of the heritage listed Barham Koondrook Bridge Restoration has won the Colin Crisp Award in the Conservation Project section for 2019.  This national award acknowledges a great team effort between engineers, urban designers and heritage specialists to ensure a sensitive and engaging solution was delivered to the community of the twin towns of Barham-Koondrook.

As part of our commissioning to develop architectural concepts for the modification of this sensitive heritage bridge we developed a heritage interpretation strategy to share the history of the bridge with the community and recycled bridge parts for interpretation devices and furniture elements.  We also designed landscape improvements for the bridge setting, the riverside park and picnic facilities.

We are happy to have had the opportunity to assist in preserving the heritage of Barham and Koondrook with this historic bridge project.
