HIGHWAY 30 – CARLTON TO MATCHAM ROADS

client Aurecon/RMS

Duplication of the Central Highway in the vicinity of Gosford. The road crosses through a semi-rural setting within sensitive environs.

Challenges:
Reducing impact on rural setting and significant mature trees. Promoted variable green median where possible to reduce visual impacts and plantings beyond the corridor to visually ameliorate the new roadworks. Sensitively designed this duplication within a treed ridgeline setting amongst residential and rural properties. Worked with arborist on extensive tree assessment and determined appropriate root protection zones and methods for retaining trees within the road corridor. Works included bushland regeneration and sensitive water design.
